Life Update - New directions!

For the last two years, I was working on an education masters. I still do enjoy education and value it greatly given the climate of the world, but I will be shifting gears into a different direction due to many frustrations I had with my school’s inability to assist their students with a very important aspect of the graduation requirement. I used to be more “““functionally””” chronically ill, though it’s always been a conversation certain peers will never be quite ready for! I’m getting to a point where certain occupations no longer are viable no matter how much I stubbornly tried to push through… and educating children and teenagers is a physically demanding job that I cannot see myself doing long enough to qualify for that sweet, sweet retirement. I may consider doing professor stuff in the future though part-time, if that works out.

Otherwise, I will be cutting my losses and transferring what I can into another major I find fulfilling to my interests (hint: it’s snapping pics of bones. Awesome.) It’ll be a busy ~2.5 years or so, but the nature of the creative industry makes income very unstable. I am very lucky to have occasional freelance opportunities to contribute to a family household, but not having stable income is especially not good when I am a professional patient in the USA with flimsy insurance (lol). I don’t delve into my health issues on social media as much anymore, partially to stay private but also, only my friends need to be made privy to how much my body explodes on a daily basis. Most of my disability jokes are to cope and I am allowed to make them for myself »

Art-wise, I may do more art in the time between studies and classes since I seem to thrive best under duress. Return to Sender is still slowly being worked on, but visible progress is not so frequent anymore since I’m deep into the #plotting and eventing aspects. I might be attending a local convention at some point to offload the last of my merch. I do miss tabling, but tabling solo is very much an impossible thing for someone like me. Thankfully, I have a family lackey at hand for this one instance.
